Very professional and caring. Don was wonderful in watching the weather and helping us with an unexpected change of plans. The crew was kind and knowledgeable about the sea and the process. Plus, the AleMande was exceptionally lovely.

Thank you for a wonderful sendoff for our dear one.

Our family would like to thank Dignity at Sea for their services.  We first heard about Dignity at Sea when our Father in Law found about you in 2014.   The website “”was very well done and gave us everything we needed to make our choice.  We found the Vessel was even better that we expected in appearance and cleanliness.  Captain Don was amazing and thoughtful.  He was very helpful in getting our video to work. First mate Chris was very attentive to our needs and did a great job with the prayer. Honestly, we can not think of anything that wasn’t taken care of and thank you for a memorable Cremation Scattering Cruise.

We would like to thank Dignity at Sea very much for everything.  The Cremation Scattering Cruise was perfect.  We were seeking a way to legally and respectfully scatter the ashes of my father-in-law, and couldn’t imagine a better experience than we had with Captain Don and First Mate Jarred.  The communication in advance was superb, the pricing reasonable, and the vessel made us feel like we were movie stars.  We are on boats all of the time, and have never been on a boat so nice.  We felt like we could relax and focus on the experience, as all of the other details were taken care of.  We would absolutely recommend Dignity at Sea to others for a first class, respectful experience.

Dad's last request was to have his family scatter his ashes into the Atlantic Ocean because he loved the sea.  I was tasked with the mission to seek a way to carry out his request and I began searching the internet when I ran across your website.  After reviewing your services and the reviews of your clients and their experiences I got together with my family and we determined we would move forward with 'Dignity At Sea'.
Your website was very informative and provided everything we needed to make our decision to use your service.  Any questions we had about the service was answered in phone conversations or email.
We could not have been more pleased with the vessel.  We were a little concerned about the condition of the ocean when we arrived for our scheduled excursion but those fears were dispelled with the accommodations and the room we had on board the “Allemande”.  It was well maintained and everything was perfect.
We couldn't have asked for a better Captain and first mate as they took care of our every need.  During our trip they treated every one of us like family and made us feel at ease during our trip.  The first mate attended to all of us in a courteous manner and I appreciated the special attention given to my elderly mother during the voyage to insure she was comfortable and that we all were accommodated.  The Captain insured a very smooth ride given the circumstances.
It was a sad time for the family to let Dad go but he did get his wish to be buried at sea and we so appreciate your organization for making that happen for us.  You truly have a name that tells all what you are all about because you care for people and it shows in your desire to meet the needs
of your clients.  Thanks again for all your help and being there for us.
Dignity at Sea is one class act!

Captain Don and Kathy,
The three of us can’t thank you enough for your services.  The size of your ship was perfect, offering us room to move about, yet be close to each other.  Jarrod and Lisa were wonderful to us and we enjoyed their company on our event.  They were helpful in preparing of the disposal of the ashes before we set off and while on the trip.  It was a wonderful, peaceful and freeing event.
I would also like to thank Captain Don for working with me on moving the date for a better sail day.  The person who is shaky on the sea, made it out and back, and moving the date assisted in his comfort level.
We will be happy to recommend your services to anyone, and everyone.       Thank you again

The service we were provided was awesome. Captain Jarrod and First Mate, Chris, were very nice and helpful. Made us feel very welcome.  They explained everything very well and made us feel very comfortable.  When it came time to spread my fathers ashes they explained the process very well. Made me feel comfortable and not rushed. Overall the experience was wonderful. Thanks for making us feel comfortable and welcome! It was a memorable experience that I will not forget and I feel my dad is at peace now. The weather was great couldn’t ask for a better day to spread his ashes!   Thanks again !

Can’t say enough about Dignity at Sea Cremation Scattering Cruises.  The boat was wonderful and met all our expectations. The Captain and First Mate were awesome; very attentive and courteous.   They truly went over and above to make us feel at home on the boat, safe and that my mother was just as important to you as she was to us.  Thank you again for a making it special to all.

First and foremost, I would like to express my and my family's sincere thanks to you for making a difficult time much easier to deal with as we honored the final wishes of my Aunt.  I know that my Aunt would have been extremely pleased with our choosing your crew and vessel to make that possible.  We appreciated not only your professionalism, but also the care and compassion you showed toward each of us.  Having prayers and music already available was great and we also appreciated the flexibility to play other music if we preferred, which as it turned out, we decided not to do because we were completely comfortable with your music choices.  The moist towels and beverages included were also much appreciated and being able to bring our own libations aboard was definitely a plus.  Your vessel was spotless and having an air conditioned area available if needed was great if the outdoor sun and heat had become too much for any of us.  I would like to personally thank each of you:  Lisa for all you did to accommodate us and make us feel as comfortable as possible, taking pictures we requested, reading the prayer, making sure we were safe as we moved about the vessel, providing/serving beverages, and engaging us with great conversation; Captain Don for getting us from shore to sea and back safely, explaining beforehand exactly what would occur on our voyage, giving us some insight on your background on the sea, and for the time spent talking with my Dad :-);  Kathy, you were my first contact with Dignity at Sea and from beginning to end, you were a pleasure to work with, I only wish that I had the opportunity to meet you and thank you in person.  Thank you for answering my questions and making things crystal clear along the way.  So a tremendous THANK YOU to you all and I will definitely keep you in mind for any future occasions and be sure to refer to others.

Captain Don, Here's my feedback and some comments about the experience we archived during our Memorial cruise.  We found the website, to be very informative and helpful for those of us who have no experience on how to arrange scattering ashes at sea. can be easily found thru Google search, but we found it on Google maps.  We were looking for a special place where our family can come back anytime, meet the sunrise as close as possible, to the location where we said goodbye to our baby boy Artyom.   As you know, Ponce Inlet is the best place, because there's a long pier, probably it's the longest one on east coast, taking us so close to the place of our memories.   We also noticed the Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse is like a candle guiding our sweet angel [👼] on his way to God.  The vessel was very comfortable and clean.  All passengers (our friends and family) mentioned Captain Don’s experience and safety instructions were so reassuring and informative.  A special gratitude to Captain Don and First Mate Jarrod for their warm words during scattering process. Thank you for the Memorial keepsake made by your wife. This beautiful ornament will let us feel our little angel next to us during holidays.   We were so completely satisfied and will not hesitate to tell everyone about the beautiful place on the east coast of Florida where you provide such an excellent service.
Warmest gratitude.

The family was very pleased with everything on the Cremation Scattering Cruise. Captain Don and Chris did a great job. Honestly, I do not think it could have been any better.  Definitely will tell my friends about how good everything was handled.  We all feel my husband went out to sea “first class”. I just cannot say enough good how everything turned out.   Thank you all again!

Just wanted to share we are delighted we found Dignity at Sea on the Internet.  Your website was extremely informative and answer most questions before I spoke with Kathy.  We found the vessel to meet all our expectations.  Captain Don and crew were very attentive and courteous to all.  Honestly, everything was more than expected.  Could not have been better!

Captain Don I cannot thank you, Kathy and Chris enough for the lovely service scattering my Dad's ashes on Saturday.  My family were singing your praises at our dinner on Saturday evening and, more importantly, his partner - Betty - stated that everything was handled with the greatest respect and dignity.  Betty declared it a "fitting farewell" to Frank. I could not agree more.

I found Dignity at Sea – Cremation Scattering Cruises during a 'google search' for companies that offered this type of service. The website was very informative and there were no surprises, except for the “recommended” gratuity. The vessel was very comfortable, clean, and every area we had free access to was pleasing in appearance. Captain Don and first mate Chris were extremely courteous and accommodating to us the entire time my family and I were on board, and respected the way in which we wanted to honor our brother. Kudos to Capt. Don & Chris.Well done!
Suzanne Y. - St. Cloud, FL

Dear Captain Don and Kathy,
Thank you so much. Everything was perfect.  You provide a wonderful service.  My grandson is very happy with his "First Mate" designation.  Driving the boat and being made a fuss over was just what he needed.  Julian was born when my son and family lived with us.  He was very close to his grandfather the first 3 years of his life.  He sobbed at the service at the church on Saturday.  So you provided a diversion for him on Sunday, and for that I am eternally grateful.  I will certainly recommend you to anyone who asks.  Gratefully, Suzanne

Good morning Don & Kathy
Want to let you know Everything was perfect and what we had hoped.  First Mate Jarrod did a great job!  Captain Don was very welcoming and was very gracious about our lateness which was appreciated.   Absolutely a Beautiful day!
Thank you all!

Captain Don & Crew:
Here is a much deserved testimonial, but words can't really do justice to Kathy, Captain Don & Chris. Using the great staff at Dignity At Sea, was truly a unique peaceful & uplifting experience.
From Don’s wife, Kathy to Captain Don & First Mate Chris on board the grand “AleMande,” it was totally flawless.
We purchased from another company a biodegradable companion urn that held the remains of my wife’s mom & dad. Captain Don placed them in the urn for us & all we had to do was sit back & enjoy the vessel & the scenery. When we were at the required distance,  3 miles out & away from other boat traffic, we prepared for the release.
We went aft down a short steps & once aft Chris read a short poem made with their names & my wife placed the urn followed by a single  🌹  in the ocean with soft music playing after which a toast with some bubbly that we provided. A truly great alternative to a cold cemetery plot. A fitting tribute to the two lives, well lived.                  Thanks to the kind & caring folks at Dignity At Sea!

In our research, my sister-in-law googled scattering ashes at sea, or something close to that effect, and your website came up.  We found your Website to be informative and most of our questions were answered from the site, before ever contacting Dignity at Sea.
On the day of the cruise, the  staff was courteous and attentive to our needs from the time we boarded the vessel.  Captain Don explained the safety measures and how the day would go, so that we had a very good idea of what to expect. The mate  was very attentive to our safety moving about the boat, especially with the Two (2 ) little ones. We were also given plenty of time to do what we wanted during the scattering of ashes. The prayer, words and music were very conducive. The kids also appreciated the experience of being able to drive the boat; that made it extremely nice for them.  We were completely satisfied with Dignity at Sea services and Thank you for making it a memorable time for all us.

Captain Don
I drove straight home yesterday -21 hours from Melbourne to College Station TX. The whole thing was pretty emotional but I finally feel like I set her free.
Thank you to the entire staff, from beginning to end, for being so courteous and attentive to all our needs.
Dignity at Sea – Cremation Scattering Cruises vessel “AleMande” met every expectation in appearance, cleanliness and service.
Honestly, I could not think of anything else they could have done to make the ceremony any better.
I will be giving Dignity at Sea a “5” or 5 stars on social media :-).
Thank you so much for everything!!!
Best Regards,

Captain Don
I wanted to thank you for your assistance.
After doing some research on what was available for “scattering of ashes at sea” online initially, I found the Dignity at Sea – Cremation Scattering Cruises website to be very informative.  I then read the “Customer” reviews of Dignity at Sea specifically before contacting you, and glad we did so.
The staff was very attentive and courteous throughout the trip.  Their concern for our comfort during some rough water was very much appreciated.
Dignity at Sea provided the services as I anticipated and met all expectations.
Dignity at Sea – Cremation Scattering Cruises may use my comments and pictures (Jarred took for me) on their website.
Thank you again,

I found you through an internet web search, specifically looking in the Daytona/Ponce Inlet area.  It was a favorite vacation destination of my parents.  Your website was informative.   Everything exceeded our expectations. The vessel, the captain, the first mate and the communication before and after…everything was absolutely wonderful. Very grateful.  We received the certificates, and that was such a lovely touch.  Really,    thank you so much for everything!

Captain Don & Kathy
Wanted to thank you for a great and memorable experience.  In my search on the internet we found Dignity at Sea-Cremation Scattering Cruises.  The website was very informative and answered many of my questions before reaching out.  However, my decision wasn’t made until after speaking with Kathy.  Kathy informed me they did not require a deposit which was a really big deal for me at the time and I could feel Kathy’s caring spirit.  I could sense the care and concern in her voice as we spoke over the phone.  On the day of our cruise, we found the vessel, “AleMande”, to be very clean and I really liked the upper and lower levels.  We were free to move around the vessel and sit wherever we wanted.  Captain Don was courteous and attentive to our needs.  He made a heavy event, light and entertaining for all of us.  He was patient with each of us and the kid’s loved steering the vessel.  The First Mate did a great job being attentive to our every move and to ensure our safety.  I honestly can’t think of anything Dignity at Sea could have done better to serve our family/friends.  Dignity at Sea – Cremation Scattering Cruises delivered on all of its promises.   Thank you!
Alice N. Maitland FL

We heard about Dignity at Sea from Baldwin Bro Cremations Society.  We went to your web site and did future research and found it very informative.  The vessel met our expectations and was operated very professional.  The captain and crew were courteous and attentive. Everything was just great.
Thank you for a wonderful day.

We first discovered Dignity at Sea – Cremation Scattering Cruises in June, 2018 while dining at “Off the Hook of Ponce Inlet Restaurant.  We picked up a brochure and then saw the “AleMande” in its slip from the parking lot.
The day after reviewing the brochure, we accessed the Dignity at Sea website which is extremely informative.  We referred to the site frequently during the arrangement process.
Can’t say enough about the beauty of the vessel, “Alemande”.  The cleanliness is superb and the furnishings inside and on deck are excellent for comfort.
Captain Don and First Mate, Jarod, were so very courteous and attentive from the moment we parked in the parking lot and were escorted onto the vessel and throughout the Scattering Ceremony especially.  They allowed our Son and Grandchildren to take turns steering the boat, which they enjoyed immensely.
We can’t think of a thing that would have improved what was our Five Star ***** excellent cruise.

I just wanted to let you know there are no words to express what a beautiful experience we had today.   Your service was out of this world.  It was more than we expected and everything came together beautifully.  I want to thank you again and just let you know that we were so pleased with everything.  Thank you so much and I know that my son was very pleased

Don and Kathy!

I just wanted to say “thank you” so much for making my Father's send-off everything we could have hoped for. You made the entire process from the first email to the day of the memorial easy and painless. When we had to reschedule from our original date in May, because of storms, you made it hassle free. Your emails and phone calls checking with us in the days prior to the cruise, put my mind at ease that we were in good hands.
On the day of our voyage, Chris met us and escorted us to the ship. The ship was beautiful, clean and so much space!
We loved the thoughtful little touches, like the cold towels, which were so refreshing and calming. Both Captain Don and Chris were attentive but also let us have our space. There was no pressure to do a certain type of ceremony and we were able to carry out our goodbyes, just how Dad would have wanted.
Since we opted not to use flowers, (Dad wasn't a flower guy), I printed photos of various stages of my Dad's life, onto eco-friendly “SmartSolve” paper, which dissolves in the water in 30 seconds, to be distributed along with the urn.  My only regret is that I should have printed more photos as this was one of my favorite parts!
It was beautiful and symbolic watching the photos melt in the water after the urn was placed in the ocean.
I have already recommended Dignity at Sea to coworkers and friends who were interested in our experience and will continue to do so whenever burial at sea comes up!
Thank you again so much for everything, you are part of a very important memory in our lives.
I am attaching a few photos here for you, please feel free to use them if you like and also my testimonial as well.

Happy holidays!!

Dear Captain Don
While looking for a company to assist with the disbursement of our loved ones cremains, I was referred to you by someone at Critter Fleet, Ponce Inlet, Florida.  Your information on the website explained your services very well, but in no way could describe your compassion and respect.  This includes your first mate, Chris.
I would not suggest you do anything differently than you are doing.  You made a difficult and emotional day very comfortable for the entire family.
Thank you for all you did to make an emotional day a wonderful experience.  I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you and your services to anyone.
Best wishes for a wonderful holiday season to you, Kathy and Chris.
Most Sincerely,

Dave Rogers (Friend of Family) referred Dignity at Sea, so did not use your Web site.
The vessel, “ALEMANDE”, was beautiful and the kind of boat that Dave always talked about. We all were thrilled about that. Captain Don and First Mate Chris, were so courteous and informative. We were informed about how the seas/marine conditions were prior to cruise, the vessel and safety features and of course the weather.
We really appreciated the cold water and the scented hand-towels to freshen up with after the disbursement of Dave’s cremains.  The way the service was conducted met all of our expectations.  We had already had the long memorial service, so this was his wish.
Making the reservation was easy and Kathy helped us get the day and time we wanted.  All in all, it was a perfect day.
Thank you so much,
Shirley W., GA

I cannot find the words to express how pleased I was with Dignity at Sea’s handling of Gerald’s Memorial Service.  The only way you could have better served the event, would have been your control of Mother Nature’s rain.
My thanks to Mike for referring me to you.  The vessel “AleMande” gets a “10” for appearance and cleanliness – and I speak for all guests, as we had aboard, several born with a “Cleanliness phobia”.  The website is great, very informative and serval guests checked it out prior to the event.
The staff’s hospitality was truly great and all received above expectations and appreciate your kindness and patience shown to us.  To sum it up, we give a “high 5” and “10” to Dignity at Sea and its personnel.
I received the “Memorial Certificates” and my “First Mate” Certificate (which I’m extremely proud of) in a timely manner.
Again, guests asked to express their thanks and look forward to another event in the meantime.

God Bless

We are very pleased with our day! Captain Don and Lance worked very hard to make it happen. They came from Daytona Beach to Cape Canaveral, the night before our excursion, and faced a lot of stormy weather. We wanted to spread our loved ones ashes in the Cocoa Beach area. They were very hospitable and respectful. The boat was clean and comfortable. Thank you for a great experience!

Thank you for the service you provide. I found your website during my search and information contained is what
convinced me to choose the service.
The day of the cruise, we found the vessel to be a pleasant ride. We felt very comfortable on the deck where we scattered the ashes.
The Captain and the Mate were very attentive and courteous. The first mate Jarod made sure everyone were comfortable. He offered us the cooling cloths and it made the difference. He did a nice job reciting the prayer.  Captain Don  and  Jarod  helped us feel less stressed during the event. The Mate  walked with some of us to the cars with an umbrella.
The whole experience was very nice and would recommend their services.

Wanted to let you know, the Dignity at Sea website, explained everything I needed before I ever made my initial contact with Kathy.
We wanted you to know how amazing the “AleMande” was upon our arrival. Very clean and well stocked with plenty of room.
Captain Don and Jarod were fantastic, explaining the entire process and answering any questions. They were both respectful and courteous to our needs. I can’t honestly think of anything that we felt was lacking. It was a great experience. I would highly recommend Dignity at Sea for anyone requiring such services.

When searching the Internet for burials at sea, we found Dignity At Sea - Cremation Scattering Cruises.  I entered the dialogue with a good understanding of expenses.  The vessel, ALEMANDE was an amazing boat.   Omg, beautiful and clean and much better than expected.  The staff was amazing and I seriously felt like we had known the captain and his mate forever.   Amazing, approachable and understanding.  They could not have treated or served us better!  Thank you for a memorable cruise!

Kathy, I found out about your services on the internet. The vessel was beyond our expectations. It was comfortable and clean. Fridge stocked with soft drinks, water and juice. Plates and utensils for us to use. We were made very welcomed from the minute we met Jared at the lighthouse. Capt. Don and Jared were so nice and personable with our guests and my grandson, who by the way was in his glory assisting driving the boat. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful service. You can use my comments and pics on your web site. Thanks so much.

 Good morning,

I heard about you through the DeLand Facebook page. I followed the link to your homepage and thought it was very professional and informative. I am so  glad I decided to use your service, all Georges' family were pleased and we thought you and your crew did an outstanding job. The weather could have  been better, but a couple of the kids loved it. George would have loved it, too. Everything was perfect, the little service and the flowers. And thank you for  making our lunch reservations

I just wanted you to know; I attended the memorial of a friend’s daughter Sunday, and  to  the  funeral director.  I told him if any of his clients asked about a burial at sea, that  I    would  highly recommend your services, and gave him your card.  He was happy to have    it.    We  believe in your services so much!!!

I am so glad we found Dignity at Sea on the internet.  The vessel "ALEMANDE" was enjoyable and met our expectations.  Not only was the weather beautiful, but  the sunset was magnificent.  We enjoyed ourselves.  The trip was a perfect way to spend time with our friends laughing and catching up.  Thank you Dignity at Sea and Captain Don...

We found you online and the website covered all the informative we needed in making our decision in picking your company. The boat was clean and had plenty of room.  When we met your first mate in the parking lot and helped us to the boat he was a great help from the beginning to the end.  The Captain met us at the boat and once we were all aboard he gave us a safety talk and made us feel at home.  He was concerned about the sea conditions and that we may not enjoy the trip and said if there is any issues we would turn around immediately and come back to the dock. We appreciated that concern.  The cruise was a little rough but we made it out and all went well with all of us. The service was beautiful and my mother loved it and is still talking about it to her friends. My uncle would have been pleased. Dignity at Sea thanks again and we will be recommending your company.
